It seems like Toronto is dishing out a new condo every week and yet still the supply cannot meet the demand. This is true not only in Toronto but also in some of Toronto's suburbs such as Mississauga, North York, Etobicoke and even Scarborough. While Toronto has the greatest amount of sales and price appreciation, the city is simply running out of space!
The question developers are asking themselves now is... where should we build?
One untapped suburb that has not seen many condos is Vaughan. Yes, they do have some condos such as the Bellaria Residences Condos (Jane and Rutherford) and the Market Lane Condos (Islington and Highway 7) but with an area as big as Vaughan, there are definitely not enough high rises. And the funny part is that many of the major developers (Fernbrook, Pemberton, Greenpark Homes, Remington Group) have their head offices located in Vaughan.
Now we are soon approaching the launch of five new condos at the corner of Jane & Highway 7. The condos are called Expo City Centre and will be built by YYZed Project Management and the Cortel Group. Expo City Centre was originally named 7 City Centre but the land and the project was sold this year and the new developers are naming the project Expo City Centre. No sales date has been set yet but we expect sales to begin in a month or so.
